Our Terms and Conditions
Thank you for choosing **Misky Expeditions** for your journey in Peru. Before making your reservation, we kindly ask you to read the following terms and conditions carefully.
Traveling in Peru can be a unique and rewarding experience. The standards of transportation, accommodation, infrastructure, and services may sometimes differ from those in your country of origin. Our team works with professionalism, care, and dedication to provide you with a safe and enjoyable travel experience.
By confirming a reservation with **Misky Expeditions**, you acknowledge and accept the following terms and conditions.

TRAVELING IN PERU
Traveling throughout Peru, particularly in remote areas of the Andes and Amazon, requires flexibility, patience, an open mind, and a positive attitude.
Itineraries, transportation schedules, accommodations, routes, or other services may occasionally need to be modified due to weather conditions, road closures, strikes, government regulations, operational circumstances, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
When necessary, **Misky Expeditions** may make reasonable changes to the itinerary or services to protect the safety and well-being of our travelers and staff.

FORCE MAJEURE
Force majeure refers to circumstances that are beyond the reasonable control of **Misky Expeditions** and that cannot reasonably be foreseen, prevented, or avoided despite taking appropriate precautions.
These circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
* Natural disasters
* Earthquakes, landslides, floods, or severe weather
* Strikes, demonstrations, or road blockades
* Political or social unrest
* Civil disturbances
* Government restrictions or regulations
* Epidemics or pandemics
* Transportation disruptions
* War or terrorist activity
* Industrial disputes
* Other extraordinary circumstances beyond our control
In such situations, **Misky Expeditions** reserves the right to modify, postpone, reroute, or, when absolutely necessary, cancel a trip.
We will make reasonable efforts to provide alternative arrangements whenever possible. Any additional costs resulting from circumstances beyond our control may be the responsibility of the traveler.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance before traveling to Peru.
Your insurance should ideally cover:
* Accidental injuries
* Medical expenses
* Emergency evacuation
* Mountain rescue
* Air ambulance services
* Trip cancellation or interruption
* Lost, stolen, or damaged luggage
* Delays and missed connections
Travelers participating in high-altitude or adventure activities should ensure that their insurance specifically covers the activities included in their itinerary.

ADVENTURE TRAVEL & PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Many of our tours and trekking programs involve physical activity, high-altitude environments, uneven terrain, changing weather conditions, and remote locations.
These may include, but are not limited to:
* Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
* Salkantay Trek
* Ausangate Trek
* Rainbow Mountain
* Choquequirao Trek
* Lares Trek
* Humantay Lake
* Other hiking and adventure programs
By booking an adventure tour with **Misky Expeditions**, you acknowledge the inherent risks associated with these activities and agree to follow the instructions of our guides and staff.
Travelers are responsible for informing **Misky Expeditions** in advance of any relevant physical limitations, dietary requirements, allergies, or other circumstances that may affect their participation.

PASSPORT & PERSONAL INFORMATION
To process your reservation and secure certain services, we may require accurate personal information.
For international travelers, your passport must be valid and the information provided during the booking process must match your travel documents.
If you renew or replace your passport after making your reservation, you must inform **Misky Expeditions** as soon as possible.
For programs requiring official permits or entrance tickets, such as the **Inca Trail**, the information provided during booking may be used to issue permits and tickets. Changes to passenger information may be subject to availability, government regulations, and additional fees.
If you are traveling with a student discount, you must provide a valid student identification card that meets the applicable requirements and remains valid on the date of the activity.

MAKING A RESERVATION
Deposit
To confirm a reservation for a tour, trek, alternative trek, or travel package, a deposit is required.
Unless otherwise specified in your booking confirmation, the deposit is generally **50% of the total cost of the program**.
The remaining balance must be paid before the start of the trip according to the payment conditions provided by **Misky Expeditions**.
Suggested Deposit Amounts
**Inca Trail to Machu Picchu:**
US$400 per person
**Alternative Adventure Treks:**
US$250 per person
**Tourist Programs and Tour Packages:**
50% of the total cost per person, depending on the itinerary and services included.
The exact deposit required will be confirmed by our reservations team before payment.

PAYMENT METHODS
1. Credit or Debit Card – Payment Link
If you choose to pay by credit or debit card, **Misky Expeditions** can provide a secure payment link.
Credit card payments may be subject to a **5% transaction fee**, depending on the payment method and financial institution.
The applicable fee will be communicated before payment is processed.
2. Western Union
We may accept payments through Western Union.
The payment information and recipient details will be provided directly by our reservations team.
After completing the transfer, please send us the transfer confirmation or reference number so that we can verify your payment.
3. Bank Transfer
Bank transfers may also be available.
Our reservations team will provide the current bank account information and instructions required to complete the transfer.
**Important:** Any bank, intermediary, transfer, or transaction fees charged by financial institutions are the responsibility of the traveler unless otherwise agreed in writing.

FINAL BALANCE
The remaining balance should be paid according to the payment deadline specified in your booking confirmation.
Unless another payment arrangement has been agreed upon in advance, we recommend completing the final payment **at least 48 hours before the beginning of your tour or trek**.
For payments made in Cusco, accepted payment methods and currencies will be confirmed by our reservations team.
If a traveler fails to pay the remaining balance within the agreed period and does not contact **Misky Expeditions**, we reserve the right to cancel the reservation and release the services that have been reserved.

CANCELLATION POLICY
1. Reservation Deposit
Deposits paid to confirm a reservation are generally **non-refundable**, because they may be used to secure permits, entrance tickets, transportation, accommodation, guides, equipment, and other services in advance.
2. Cancellation Notification
Any cancellation or modification must be communicated to **Misky Expeditions** as soon as possible by email or through another official communication channel.
The applicable cancellation conditions may vary depending on the tour, trek, permits, tickets, accommodation, transportation, and suppliers involved.
3. Cancellation After Final Payment
Once the final balance has been paid, refunds may not be possible for certain services that have already been purchased or issued.
Depending on the program, some components may remain usable or transferable according to the rules established by the corresponding service providers.
For example, certain entrance tickets, train tickets, bus tickets, or permits may be subject to specific cancellation and transfer policies.
Any refund, credit, or alternative arrangement will be evaluated according to the conditions of the individual services included in your itinerary.

CHANGES TO YOUR RESERVATION
If you need to change your travel dates, itinerary, passenger information, or other details, please contact **Misky Expeditions** as early as possible.
Changes are subject to availability and may result in additional costs, particularly when permits, entrance tickets, train tickets, hotels, transportation, or other services have already been issued or confirmed.

ALTITUDE ACCLIMATIZATION
Many destinations in the Cusco region are located at high altitude.
To reduce the likelihood of experiencing altitude-related symptoms, we recommend spending **2–4 days acclimatizing in Cusco or another high-altitude destination** before undertaking demanding treks.
During your acclimatization period, we recommend:
* Drinking plenty of water
* Eating light and nutritious meals
* Consuming foods rich in carbohydrates
* Avoiding excessive alcohol
* Avoiding smoking
* Getting adequate rest
* Increasing physical activity gradually
* Following the recommendations of your guide
Coca tea is a traditional beverage commonly consumed in the Andes. However, it should not be considered a medical treatment for altitude sickness.
If you experience severe or worsening symptoms, inform your guide immediately and seek appropriate medical assistance.

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE TRAVELER
Travelers are expected to follow the instructions provided by **Misky Expeditions**, our professional guides, transportation providers, and other service personnel.
Travelers are also responsible for:
* Providing accurate booking information
* Carrying valid travel documents
* Arriving on time at designated meeting points
* Following safety instructions
* Taking care of personal belongings
* Respecting local communities, cultural sites, and the environment
* Informing us of relevant dietary or logistical requirements before departure
**Misky Expeditions** reserves the right to modify or discontinue participation in an activity when a traveler’s conduct or circumstances may create a significant safety risk to themselves, other travelers, staff, or local communities.
